We got our second Rockets of Awesome delivery this week and the kids went wild! You can watch them unpacking their box in this video.

What is Rockets of Awesome?

If you haven’t heard of Rockets of Awesome it is a clothing delivery service for kids. They send 8-12 articles of clothing to your child four times a year. Since they make and design their own clothing it is really different than what you find in the store.

I have been really impressed with the quality of the clothing. It is well made of great fabric. The first box of clothing has held up really well and it has been worn often since we got it in September.

What do you get?

My son has gotten a variety of short and long sleeve shirts, both tees and button downs. The pants have ranged from jeans and chinos to pull on joggers and athletic shorts. He has also gotten a hoodie and a quilted vest.

My daughter’s boxes have had a few dresses, skirts, leggings, short and long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts and a sweater.

The tee shirts are super soft, I kinda wish they came in my size too! The tees have really cool prints on them, my favorite is a drawing of a bottle of ketchup that says “Awesome Sauce.” Patrick’s favorite is a tee with a drawing of a cat in a space helmet that says “Space Cat.”

My daughter LOVES the dresses and skirts that have come in her boxes. They use lots of sparkle and silver, two of her favorite things. I love that I can throw them all in the wash!

I like that I don’t have to be afraid the clothing is inappropriate for my kids. Nothing is low cut or says anything that should not be seen on a child. The prints are fun and cute, nothing violent or graphic.

What is the downside?

The only downside for me is that the prices are a little higher than I would normally spend on kids clothes. Prices are about $12-$36 per item, although the silver bomber jacket was $42 but we didn’t keep it since it didn’t fit. There is no shipping fee or monthly fee though so you only pay for the items you end up keeping.

The price is balanced out by the fact that all the clothes come straight to your house. I don’t have to go out and look for clothes, try to get the kids to try stuff on in a store, or deal with finding things that match. All the clothes go together and the novelty of having a package shipped to them means they can’t wait to try things on.

The sizing has been pretty spot on. The silver bomber jacket was too small for my daughter in this shipment. Last shipment we sent a few pairs of pants for my son back cause they were too long. He has grown in the last few months though and the pants fit this time.

If you really like an article of clothing but it doesn’t fit you can return it and get a different size in the online store that opens once your box has shipped. You can also order clothes you like in different colors in case your child wants more than one of something.

Both kids finished out the week wearing their new items and looked awesome!

I love subscription boxes and not having to fight crowds at the store with cranky kids? Even better!
